"Life-threatening" floods in Australia prompt mass evacuations

The low-lying areas along Australia's east coast Saturday witnessed "life-threatening" floods after incessant rains across the region. Mass evacuations were ordered in the region after the heavy flooding. As per the police, hundreds of people entered evacuation centres in areas north of Sydney in New South Wales state. More than 300 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in New South Wales and the areas nearby.
