Liquor rates slashed by Andhra government to counter smuggling, prevent sanitizer deaths

The YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government has reduced the prices of liquor in the state after the cases of deaths due to the consumption of hand sanitizers rose amid the increased prices. The government reduced prices of liquor by Rs 10 to Rs 280 in two categories apart from beer. The price of beer and ready to drink have liquor been reduced by Rs 30. However, the price of premium liquor has been increased by Rs 40-140.
