Local Covid vaccine development stopped in Australia after HIV false positives

The production of a local Covid19 vaccine has been halted in Australia after early trials showed signs of false HIV positives. The vaccine candidate being developed by the University of Queensland and vaccine maker CSL is one of the four candidates who got the contract from the Australian government for the development of the vaccine. However, 216 participants who took part in the Phase 1 trials encountered no adverse effects.
