The Central Bureau of Investigation booked a senior superintendent in the Regional Passport Office in Madurai for issuing Indian passports to foreign nationals, including Sri Lankans. The official reportedly issued Indian passports to people brought by travel agents. The official, identified as Veeraputhiran, Senior Superintendent, RPO, was held after the central probe agency raided three locations in Madurai.
