Over 60,000 households and many parts of Manhattan suffered a widespread blackout, which affected traffic lights, subway stations, and tourist attractions in New York on Saturday as utility company Con Edison struggled with 'extensive outages.' It had taken more than 5 hours to restore powers across Manhattan. However, the scary part was many elevators shut midway in the outage, requiring firefighters rescuing people.
