Throught the Shram Seva Portal, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has started mandatory online registration and licencing by employers under the Contract Labour Act 1970, the Inter-State Migrant Workmen Act 1979 and the Building and Other Construction Workers Act 1996. Emphasising their focus on 'Digital India', this move brings transparency and efficiency to government services available electronically.
