MHA suspends Jammu and Kashmir IPS officer Basant Rath for misconduct

The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended Jammu and Kashmir IPS officer Basant Rath for repeated instances of misconduct and misbehabiour. The 2000 batch IPS officer, had recently written a letter in which he expressed apprehension about his safety due to "certain activities" of the Jammu and Kashmir Police chief. The letter dated June 25 made a lot of news, unearthing the rift between J&K Police Chief and Rath.
