In a bid to get rid of explosives and mines dating back to the 1990s war, Bosnia trains dogs for detecting mines and diffusing them without causing harm to human lives. From 1992-95, nearly eight percent of Bosnia's territory was full of mines and explosives. The number has been brought down to 2 percent with the help of the canines. Nearly 40 dogs are undergoing mine-detection training while 30 have retired after years of service.
