Mining giant Rio Tinto has apologized for destroying 46,000-year-old Aboriginal caves in Western Australia that dates back to the last Ice Age and is reviewing plans of all other sites. The Juukan Gorge caves, near the Pilbara region, were blown up recently as Rio Tinto was expanding an iron ore project agreed with the authorities. Many prehistoric artifacts have been discovered from the remote heritage site.
