Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation spoke about the new deadly mutant strain of the novel coronavirus. Dr. Swaminathan said the new mutant may already be present in several countries. However, she said that it is still too early to draw final conclusions about the strain that is 70% more transmissible. "The UK is one of those countries that is doing a lot of whole-genome sequencing," she said.
