While Japan has been able to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, the same can't be said about suicide cases. Cases of suicides continue to rise in Japan. According to official records, Japan recorded more suicide deaths than covid deaths in October 2020. According to data released by Japan's National Police Agency, 2,153 people ended their lives in October 2020. This hints at rising cases of ill mental health in Japan.
