More than 8,000 schools with strength less than 20 to be shut by Odisha government

The Odisha state government is going to shut 8,000-odd primary and upper primary state schools from the current academic year as the minimal student strength in the schools is not enough. According to the state school and mass education department, the schools that will be shut have a strength of fewer than 20 students. The schools will be merged with the nearest schools called Lead Schools over the last few months.
