More than 850 academics extend support to new farm laws in open letter

As many as 866 academicians from various educational institutions across the country have lent their support to the newly passed farm laws amid the massive protest by farmers from Punjab and Haryana. "The Union government has repeatedly assured the farmers that these three bills on farm trade wouldn't do away with MSP, but rather free the farm trade from all illicit market restrictions," an open letter by the academics read.
