According to the "State of the Climate in Asia” report released by the World Meteorological Organization, India lost $87 billion last year due to natural disasters such as tropical cyclones, floods and droughts. According to the estimate by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, India incurred an average annual loss of $700 billion due to the disasters that it faced.
