Navy Chief launches new guided missile destroyer "INS Imphal"

Indian Navy launched guided missile destroyer INS Imphal at Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders in Mumbai. INS Imphal is the 3rd ship built under project 15B, which is propelled by 4 gas turbines to achieve speeds in excess of 30 knots, with a length of 163m & 17.4 m at the beam & displacement of 7.300 tonnes. These ships can carry & operate 2 multiple role helicopters. Naval chief Sunil Lanba's wife launched it by breaking a coconut.
