NCERT recommends including chapters in school books that promote "gender equality"

The National Council of Education Research and Training(NCERT) has recommended to include chapters that promote "gender equality" in the school books at the play level itself. The idea was given by NCERT to make sure that children are not gender-biased while growing up. Schools should select books, plays and activities free of gender bias. Teachers should avoid language that limits one gender or another," an official said.
