NCRB data says in 2019, 66.7% of suicide victims were married, 66.2% had annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh

According to the latest National Crime Records Bureau data, over 139,123 Indians committed suicide in the year 2019, of which 92,757 were married. The NCRB report titled 'Accidental Deaths and Suicide in India 2019' which was released on Tuesday, also mentioned that 92,083 of the suicide victims had an annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh. The NCRB report classified the social status of suicide victims into seven categories.
