A new study has revealed that nearly 25 percent of the world's population has been affected by floods in the last 2 years. Satellite data has revealed that nearly 86 million people now live within flood-prone regions. India, China, Germany and Belgium are among the worst-affected countries by the flood. An area of over 2.23 million square kilometres was flooded between 2000 and 2018, affecting over 290 million people.
