In a recent report, it was revealed that nearly 673,000 premature deaths in India are due to outdoor air pollution. It said that of this, 30% of the deaths are due to household emissions. Adding on to this, about 480,000 premature deaths a year are connected to exposure inside the houses. If household emissions could be eliminated the national average PM2.5 concentration will come close to the national ambient standards.
