A new species of snakehead fish has been discovered by the team of British and Indian scientists in the Indian state of Kerala from a paddy field. The findings have found that the newly discovered fish is physically and genetically different from the rest of the snakehead fishes across the world. The scientists have named it 'Gollum' after J.R.R. Tolkien’s Gollum. Snakeheads are notorious in other parts of the world.
