NGT imposes total ban on firecrackers in Delhi and nearby areas from midnight till November 30

In a major decision amid the rising pollution levels, the National Green Tribunal has imposed a total ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in Delhi and nearby areas till November 30. The ban will come into action starting today midnight. More than 2 dozen districts across four states that are a part of the NCR will fall under the prohibitory order. Timing for bursting of green crackers will be restricted to 2 hours.
