No birthday celebrations in Surat for a while, police puts a ban

The police have put a ban on celebrating birthdays in public in Surat temporarily, it said in a notification issued on Monday. The ban has come after the police claimed that many people have complained about strangers harassing them and smearing them with cakes. The order came into effect from 14th May and will continue till 12th July. The notice also mentioned that those who'll violate the order would be punished.
