A survey by Lancet has revealed that India has witnessed the maximum number of deaths of children under the age of 5 in 2015 across the world. It stated that there was a large difference between the child death rates between richer and poorer states. Though the study found that India tried hard to reduce death rates, which even happened from 2.5 million in 2000 to 1.2 million in 2015, it still remained highest globally.
