Odisha government estimated Rs 12000 crore losses due to cyclone Fani that killed at least 64 people & damaged more than 5 lakh dwelling units in the coastal districts. The govt seeks relaxation in disaster assistance norms. The loss to public properties was Rs 5175 crore, expenditure towards relief & response stands at Rs 6767.56 crore and the state govt estimated the highest loss in the power sector at Rs 1160 crore.
