The wildfire in mountains east of Los Angeles that has made thousands of people homeless and destroyed properties was triggered due to a malfunction in a vehicle, the officials said. The wildfire in Riverside County, among several wildfires across California, has destroyed more than 41 square miles (about 106 square kilometers) of dry brush and timber since the outbreak. Only 5% of the wildfire has been contained yet.
