Parliament building was designed to be a council house of colonial power: Hardeep Singh Puri on Central Vista Project

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri defended the government's decision to go ahead with the Central Vista Project while adding that the new parliament building would be ready for the 2022 Winter session. "The set of buildings that we now refer to as Central Vista were conceptualised sometime around 1910. The building now was never designed to be Parliament. It was designed to be a council house of a colonial power," Mr. Puri said.
