Personal data of users 'scraped' not hacked: Facebook clarifies

A day after the report of data of over 530 million Facebook accounts getting hacked, the social media giant has clarified that the data of users was not hacked but "scraped". "It is important to understand that malicious actors obtained this data not through hacking our systems but by scraping it from our platform prior to September 2019," Facebook product management director Mike Clark said in a clarification.
