Petitioners move SC demanding scrapping of minorities panel, A-G says refer to 5-judge bench

A group of six petitioners filed a plea in Supreme Court demanding the scrapping of minorities panel. The petitioners, who claimed to be followers of Sanatan Vedic Dharam, alleged that Hindu community is being discriminated against on the grounds of religion. Attorney General KK Venugopal who was asked to give his views on the matter said the issue should be heard by a five-judge constitution bench.
