President approves the formation of commission for tackling pollution in Delhi
The President of India, Mr. Ramnath Kovind has given his nod to the formation of a commission for tackling the air pollution in Delhi NCR. The President signed an ordinance brought in by the Centre for setting up the commission. The new commission will replace the Supreme Court-formed environment pollution and prevention control authority. It is a 17-member body with the centre-appointed chairperson being its head.
