Pushpa Bhargava, Scientist And Activist, Dies At 89

Renowned molecular biologist and founder director of the prestigious Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Dr. Pushpa Mitra Bhargava passed away in Hyderabad. He was 89. Bhargava is one of the architects of modern biology and biotechnology in the country. Bhargava is recipient of over 100 national and international honours and awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 1986 and the Legion d'Honneur in 1998 from then President of France.
