Becoming the first American designer, Ralph Lauren has been honoured with Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to the world of fashion. Prince Charles presented him the award in a very private ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday. The Ralph Lauren Corporation has donated money to a breast cancer research centre in London and plans to support a second centre as well.
