RBI plans an app for visually-challenged to identify currency notes

The RBI has planned a mobile app to help visually challenged people in identifying currency notes as cash is still a dominant mode of transaction. RBI says the identification of banknote denomination was key to the successful completion of cash-based transactions by visually impaired people. Intaglio printing-based identification marks are present in Rs 100 notes & above in the identification of banknotes.
