According to new evidences, discovered by the researchers, it has been proved that the rainforests existed near the south pole, around 90 million years ago. The study has analyzed preserved roots, pollen and spores from the soil. However, very little is known about the weather off South Pole, during the time. The researchers suggest that the temperature of South Pole was around 12 degree Celsius, without much of ice.
