Reverse Vending machines for plastic bottles installed to make Ooty 'Plastic-Free'

The famous hill-station in the southern part of India, Ooty has taken another step in making the hill-station 'Plastic-Free.' After being declared plastic-free last month, the district administration has now installed 5 reverse vending machines to eradicate the plastic waste completely. The plastic bottles will be turned into flakes and granules, which will be used to prepare textile threads to produce sports material.
