Scheduled Tribes Are India's Poorest People

Five out of ten from scheduled tribe are falling into the lowest wealth bracket, according to the National Data. 45.9% of scheduled tribe members in this country belong to the lowest wealth bracket while it is 18.3% in case of other backward tribes, and 9.7% in case of other castes. Wealth brackets are calculated depending on the numbers and kind of goods owned by the people.
