Second phase of Malabar naval exercise kicked off in Bay of Bengal

The second phase of the Malabar naval drills has been kicked off by the navies of India, US, Australia and Japan in the Bay of Bengal. The three-day naval exercise is aimed at strengthening the defence cooperation between the participant countries in the Indo-Pacific. The first phase of the exercise was held off the Pacific Ocean island of Guam from August 26 to 29. The exercise also aims to counter Chinese dominance in the region.
