The government of Japan has issued evacuation requests to more than 120,000 residents in some southern prefectures as the southern part of the country was hit by heavy rains. The highest rain alerts in three prefectures on Kyushu island were issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency. This comes a week after heavy rains lashed the resort city of Atami.
