State-run liquor stores closed in Kerala till the national lockdown

Kerala has suspended the sale of liquor through state-run Bevco outlets till April 14, bringing the state under total prohibition, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision of total lockdown in the country in the wake of the novel Coronavirus. Excise Minister TP Ramakrishnan directed Bevco Managing Director Sparjan Kumar to suspend sales starting today as liquor was not included in a list of essential services.
