A huge human settlement as old as the Stone Age has been unearthed near Jerusalem, and it’s one of the most monumental such cities ever discovered. The giant Neolithic mega-site, found near Motza about 5 kilometers west of Jerusalem, was first founded almost 10,000 years ago. A millennium later in its peak was believed to be a bustling center for trade and activity for 2,000–3,000 Stone Age city-dwellers.
