According to research by Cambridge University, posts promoting negative political views get more attention on social media in comparison to positive posts. The research says social media posts depicting a negative image of politicians were more likely to go viral. This essentially proves the fact that trolls were dominating social media. 2.7 million tweets and Facebook posts from various US media houses were analysed for the study.
