A new study says that 16 million accounts of Indian influencers on Instagram are fake, suggesting such people are artificially boosting 'vanity metrics' that marketers often use while selecting influencers including followers and engagement. The study done by Swedish e-commerce startup analysed 1.84 million Instagram accounts across 82 countries. The 3 regions which were found with most fakes are the US, Brazil & India.
