People who eat vegan, follow a vegetarian diet have a lower risk of heart disease, but a higher risk of stroke persists, as per a new study. A group of researchers in their survey found 10 fewer cases of heart disease and three more strokes per 1,000 people compared to meat-eaters. The research studied 48,000 people for 18 years. But, it’s still not clear if the effect is due to the diet or some other lifestyle aspect.
