Supreme Court asks Centre to provide food to sex workers during lockdown

The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to provide free ration to lakhs of sex workers amid the lockdown that has left them jobless. “This is a human problem. People are not getting ration for want of ration cards. They are under severe distress," the bench of Justices LN Rao and Hemant Gupta said while giving the states a week's time to respond on providing free ration. The court has also asked the Centre to help the sex workers.
