Supreme Court grants bail to 17 convicts in Gujarat riots case, orders to do social service

The Supreme Court today granted bail to fourteen people convicted in a 2002 Gujarat riots on the condition that they will not enter the state. The court has also ordered the convicts to participate in social and spiritual services. District legal authorities in Indore and Jabalpur have been asked to ensure that the convicts do the spiritual and social work. The administration has been directed to find livelihood for the convicts.
