Supreme Court rejects advocate Prashant Bhushan’s plea for hearing on quantum of sentence by another bench

In yet another setback for noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan, the Supreme Court on Thursday refused his submission to defer the hearing on his sentence till his review petition against conviction for criminal contempt is filed and decided. While passing the order, the Supreme Court said, “You (Prashant Bhushan) are asking us to commit an act of impropriety that arguments on sentencing should be heard by another bench.”
