The World Health Organisation has said the Taliban regime in Afghanistan has permitted the UN agencies to start a door-to-door polio vaccination program in the war-torn country. The UN agencies were barred from doing door-to-door vaccination campaigns for the last 3 years by the Taliban. This led to nearly 3.3 million children below 5 years in the country remaining unvaccinated over the past three years.
