Taliban takes control of key border crossing with Iran

After seizing border crossings with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the Taliban forces have taken control of the border crossing with Iran. According to an Afghan official, the Taliban has taken control of the Islam Qala crossing point in western Herat province. Afghan soldiers fled from the area with many of them crossing into Iran for refuge. Islam Qala is a major transit route between Afghanistan and Iran.
