Tamil Nadu government to frame laws to punish cops harassing LGBTQIA+ community members

Tamil Nadu state home secretary informed the Madras High Court that the government is working to introduce a law to punish personnel who harass members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The home secretary said this while the court was hearing a case relating to alleged police harassment of a same-sex couple. The court also said that insensitive reporting by a section of the media about the community can not be normalized.
