The DCGI has already approved the emergency use of two coronavirus vaccine candidates namely Covishield and Covaxin. These vaccines have been developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University and Bharat Biotech. There are several other vaccine candidates in the country. Zydus Cadila’s vaccine ZyCoV-D is one of them. Russia's Sputnik V is another candidate under different stages of trials. Serum Institute's NVX-Cov 2373 is another one.
