According to a report by an independent commission, tens of thousands of people believed to have been victims of child sex abuse within France's Catholic Church over the past seven decades. According to the commission president, Jean-Marc Sauve, nearly 3,000 child abusers have worked in the church in the past 70 years and majority of them were priests. "That is terrifying for the French society, for the Catholic Church," Sauve said.
